God can handle the situation at your local church, we called to hear WHERE He called us to, and when we get there, pray and stay until He calls us to another church. Every church has growing pains and has to ferret out how they will control or manage the church, decisions and the people there. We do not want to shortchange the Lord. When offense comes, pray your pray through it. Allow the Lord to adjust you and others if necessary. Jumping ship every time something goes wrong, doesn’t allow the Lord to develop you.
Romans 14:4 is a good starting point. It says that you and I do not have to criticize another person’s servant because they do not belong to us, they belong to the Lord, and He will help them and cause them to stand. So, another way to say this:
We do not have to criticize ourselves or anyone else in the body of Christ. We do not have to worry or fret about them or be intimated or anxious that they have done or will do something wrong and ‘ruin everything.’ Because the WORD says that we ourselves, and the others in the body of Christ around us do not belong to ourselves but the Lord and the Lord is more than capable of correcting, encouraging and equipping us Himself and providing whatever is necessary so that we can stand, do well and get our calling done.
There is SOMEONE who KNOWS the servant, CALLED the servant and WILL help and BACK up that servant up. That is WHO Jesus is.
We are designed to live with hearts unto the Lord, with Jesus on the throne and everyone else comes second. We want God to correct us when we need correcting, He only corrects Sons and Daughters. Always allow the Lord to help you and others in any local church issue.
We do not have a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 we are not anxious people, or get bent out of shape at the first sign of trouble or conflict. We have the agape love of God, the power of the gospel and the Word and supernaturally blessed minds and ability to solve problems. Sound minds. Therefore, we do not worry about nor be afraid of others in the body of Christ. There is no person in the body of Christ that can take you out of your calling. Mistakes can’t do that, other people’s decisions can’t do that. The Lord authors callings. And He opens doors that no man can shut and shuts doors that no man can open.
You are called by God, empowered by God and equipped by God And God is MORE than capable of helping you and I navigate in the local church. Sometimes local churches make mistakes. It happens. But it is not a deal breaker for the Lord’s plan for Him calling you to that specific church. Jesus calls each of us to very specific churches for very specific SEASONS and REASONS. You and I are indestructible. We do not have to be confused or befuddled.
The Holy Spirit can give us supernatural discernment and diplomacy. Look at how God navigated Daniel in Babylon, Joseph in Egypt. He can more than help any of us navigate anywhere He sends us, including the local church. We are the head and not the tail, all day long. If we find ourselves walking through a fiery trial, it is Jesus Himself walking next to us keeping even the smell of the smoke off of us. Glory to God.
The discussion of the local church happens within the context of the Word. There is never a situation we are in that Romans 8:28 doesn’t apply, or Genesis 50:20.
Small churches give us the opportunity to learn to work and live in close quarters, so we have to be mature enough to not gossip about people in the Church. Most of the time, it is only appropriate to pray and observe and just let people make the decisions they want to make. Unity is important in a local church, and there are always people there who like to control or over-control things, and unless you just let them, you are in for conflict that at the end of the day, will just be a distraction. So learn to pray, let the Lord tell you YOUR part in being there and just do that.
MOST of the time when it comes to local church and ministry issues, it is BEST to discuss matters between you and the Lord only. Get HIS Word on it. Pray about it, and let Him guide you through. That is MUCH better than getting others involved. Church is family, and the Holy Spirit and Word need to be the focus not others. We do not control or own people. Let people be who they be.
Who controls what at the local church? People are the best resource at any local church. Do you tell people at your church everything they can do or can’t? Are some ministries open to everyone, and others are not?
Churches have seasons and grow and develop over the years. They might start under or over-controlling things, but as time goes on, local churches tend to work those things out. Again, don’t short change the process by quitting a local church. And on the other end, do not go against God’s plan and kick people out instead allowing God to develop and grow them.
