This week's guest is Dr. Trudy Simmons, Executive Producer and co-host of the Christian View. Trudy is a Counselor, and Award Winning TV Host, a Speaker, Wife, Mom, and Ironman. Her show, The Christian View, is a fast-paced, high-energy half-hour TV show with a panel of sharp, well-educated, quick-witted women and men (and the occasional guest co-host…fingers crossed ☺)- discussing today’s hot topics and headlines from a Biblical perspective. If you haven’t checked it out, RUN, don’t walk to watch it!
The Christian View also airs on the Life Network for Women Platform: https://watch.lifenetworkforwomen.tv/the-christian-view-1
On this episode, you will hear Dr. Trudy share what kind of mental fortitude it takes to cross finish lines, not only like she does as an Ironman, but the finish lines of life. We discuss the analogy between physical endurance on earth and spiritual endurance. Trudy begins by talking to us about how church was the only safe place for her growing up in an abusive home, and how, at age 19, she no longer wanted to live. She found herself with eating disorders, cutting, and in a state of depression.
Tune in to hear Dr. Trudy encourage with words like, “Don’t give up – freedom is what’s on the other side of the finish line!” and teach us how to break out of the molds of (perceived) failure.
