Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. Jabez prayed and asked for the blessing of the Lord. He asked for his territory to be enlarged. Yet his motive was right. With a right heart motive, the Lord will trust you with more. Be sure you use what you have, and the increase will come.
He prayed that the hand of the Lord would be with him everywhere he went. We are to pray for the hand of our Lord, His favor, His opportunity to lead us in everything. His prayer included for the Lord to keep him from evil. As we ask for our Lord Jesus to keep us from evil, we align ourselves to walk in unity with the Heart of God.
